Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup dried black beans sorted and rinsed
  • 3 cups water or broth
  • 1 medium yellow onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ tsp ground chili powder
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp sea salt adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice after cooking

Instructions
 

  • Sort & rinse: Remove debris from beans, rinse thoroughly.
  • Combine ingredients: Place beans in the Instant Pot with water, onion, garlic, and seasonings (except lime juice).
  • Pressure cook: Seal lid and set to high pressure for 25 minutes.
  • Natural release: Let pressure release naturally for 15 minutes before opening lid.
  • Finish: Stir in lime juice and adjust seasoning to taste. Use sauté function to reduce liquid if needed.
  • Serve: Enjoy as a main or side dish with rice, in tacos, or as part of a salad bowl.

Notes

  • Soaking not required, but rinse beans thoroughly.
